I was wondering whether or not a hi-flow cat was worth buying for my SC GSR.

I don't like mine. It rattles like hell but I passed emissions with it. I don't know why I wouldn't but I have heard sometimes the Random Cats don't pass. I will be pulling it off and putting my straight pipe back on shortly.

It will gain you a little over a stock cat, but only between 7-8k, and it won't be much.

I thought a loss of too much backpressure hurts the SC's performance.?

it hurts performance if you are using vtec.
as long as you don't go to 3-inch exhaust with a blower and vtec, you are good fine with other stuff.
